Junior Level 1 (Ages 8–11)

Joining: Two week free tryout. Children who are ready to compete will be offered a place, those who need a bit more help with the basics can join Fun Cheer and work with our coaches to get to where they need to be.

Competitions: Moonstones compete three times a year. It is a team sport which includes children physically supporting each other in stunts, and the team can’t practice or compete with missing members. 17th/18th May - Cheer City Hatfield (date tbc)

Team members wil also require shoes and shorts - the coaches will advise styles and colours (these are purchased at your choice of retailer). Optional club branded items are also available (these make great gifts!).

Fees: Fees are annual and cover an average of 40 weeks training and competition time with coaches. The fees are made up of fees for training (annual but can be paid monthly), an annual membership fee (includes insurance and a season class uniform top), competition fees, and a small number of uniform items for events.

A welcome pack with details of current costs will be sent when you book a tryout. If you are joining after September all class fees will be reduced to reflect the number of weeks left until the end of the Season in July.

Every parent has a personal account in ‘Friendly Manager’ to track classes and invoices.

As well as online payments, we accept Childcare Vouchers, Tax Free childcare, and if you are on Universal Credit, you may be able to claim some or all your fees back (please speak to your UC office). Full information is on our Fees page in the ‘About’ section.

More about Moonstones!

Platinum Artemis Studios introduces; Moonstones

Junior Level 1 (Ages 8–11)

Welcome to Moonstones, our vibrant Junior Level 1 program designed especially for young cheerleaders aged 8 to 11. Moonstones is the next exciting step for those who have enjoyed their first taste of cheerleading and are ready to build on their foundational skills with a bit more structure and challenge. Here, our focus is on creating an engaging, safe, and supportive environment where every athlete can thrive, both as a performer and as a member of a close-knit team.

In Moonstones, athletes are introduced to a well-rounded curriculum that blends basic stunts, introductory tumbling, and synchronised cheer routines. Each practice is carefully structured to allow young cheerleaders to learn new skills gradually while ensuring that fun and safety always come first. Our experienced coaches tailor their instruction to each child’s pace, nurturing their development and boosting their confidence as they learn proper technique and coordination.

A key pillar of the Moonstones program is teamwork. Cheerleading isn’t just about individual talent—it’s about working together to create something extraordinary. Through group cheers, partner drills, and collective stunts, our athletes learn the importance of communication, trust, and cooperation. These early experiences in team building help develop social skills that extend far beyond the mat, teaching each participant the value of mutual support and collaboration.

Moonstones is also a place where young athletes learn essential life skills. As they master new cheers and stunts, they also develop discipline, focus, and resilience. The structured routines and goal-setting inherent in our training help build self-esteem and encourage a growth mindset—lessons that benefit them both in school and in everyday life. Every success, whether it’s nailing a new move or simply making progress, is celebrated as a team victory, fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and achievement.

Safety is our top priority. Every session begins with comprehensive warm-ups and careful demonstrations of proper form, ensuring that all stunts and routines are performed safely. Our coaches are constantly on hand to offer guidance and adjust techniques as needed, so that every athlete feels secure while pushing her limits.

Ultimately, Moonstones is much more than just a cheerleading program—it’s a launching pad for personal growth. Here, children learn to express themselves creatively, overcome challenges, and build lasting friendships. Parents can rest assured knowing that their child is not only developing physical skills but also learning valuable lessons in teamwork and perseverance. Join us at Moonstones, where every cheer is a stepping stone toward a brighter, more confident future!
